and Uniqueness

Recently I was trying to find out how much value I am creating uniquely for my community through the skill set I have or do I have something unique which can create value or greater good for the universe?

The question is complex and also the answer seems quite weird. I studied engineering, mostly computer engineering but I am not good at it, in fact It was just the fascination of making a lot of money lured me into it. Also I did not like the way it was taught in the university.

Then I worked as an analyst in different industries in last half a decade or so. Mostly as a Data analyst, then as a Business analyst, helping to build digital solutions for fully offline industries i.e trying to understand how people work and trying to design a digital solution which does the job, additionally creates some value for humanity.

But its been super challenging, I try to understand how people work which requires understanding Humans, their psychology- a lot of back and forth meetings with their expectations and designed solution, and also a lot of my studies, research, surveys about that specific industry.

Its like when I work with Ready Made Garments Industry I need to think like a professional merchandiser, production engineer, sale specialist or all the roles that encompasses the industry, also I need my core skill sets such as Programming, knowledge of Digital Solutions spectrum to design a viable digital solution.

In a day ideally either I am doing some meetings with some stalk-holders or negotiating with them or studying about their industry more detail or browsing through their existing code base or research other available online solutions for the industry to design something that helps them to meet their business needs very well or at least do the job at first and makes them happy.

But the sad truth is I am not quite good at it, I am trying to be better day by day, yet again I make a lot of mistakes, miss information, my solutions gets rejected, even sometimes after development users refuse to accept what they have said and my success mostly depends on users satisfaction and ability to perform the manual task in ease with the help of digital solutions, primarily software but sometimes hardware or in very few cases IoT devices.

And that’s why I am thinking more now-a-days what do I do then?

I don’t work as an engineer — although I have a piece of paper which says I am an engineer.

I don’t work as a Coder — I just do some elementary codes or sometimes review existing code base to identify business logic or a specific process.

I don’t work as a Designer too — My designs are just for the sake of making people understand what we are going to build but those are quite rudimentary too.

It feels like I don’t know what do I know now but I like it most of the time it though.
